Q2 is here! Voting Registration is available! But exactly how does this work?

We are ready!

We have commitments from 3 of the 4 Nonprofits who will be participating in the competition for the second quarter of 2011.  You are going to have a very difficult time deciding which one to vote for - they're ALL amazing! During the next couple of months we will be posting a three-part blog series highlighting each of these inspiring and deserving organizations.  And don't worry, we'll give you the links and dates so that you can review this information before you cast your ballot.

But since this whole concept is a bit out of the ordinary, we want to make sure that you are familiar with how this process works so we've designed the simple process chart that you see below.

Customer Contact
Scenario: You're looking for a real estate agent to help with buying or selling any type of real estate anywhere in the country.  How do you find a good agent?  You call Responsible Referrals, of course!  We'll talk to you about the property and what you expect from the agent who will be working for you.  We'll sign an agreement to provide this agent at no cost to you.

Agent Contact
The work begins to find the perfect agent based on the criteria you have provided.  Agents provide letters of reference and we talk with them just like we talked with you to see if you're well suited to work with each other.  We check the references and the State licensing agencies.  When we're satisfied that the agent meets your requirements, we'll make an Offer of Referral to the agent.

When the Referral Offer is signed, Responsible Referrals will make the introductions and you will begin working with your new agent.  An industry-standard Representation Contract will be signed (including a 7 day right to cancel - just in case) and you will either start looking at properties as a buyer or the agent will begin the marketing process in order to sell your property.

Over the course of time (weeks to months) you'll complete the transaction and attend a closing.

Funding Process
When escrow closes, the company representing the seller pays commissions to the listing agent and to the company representing the buyer.  The company representing the buyer pays its agent and also sends a referral check to Meridian Concepts, Inc. / Responsible Referrals. That check is split in two with half being used to cover expenses and the other half designated for Nonprofit donations.  Each quarter YOU decide where this money goes.

Voting and Registration
CLICK HERE or at the very top of the page under the heading to make sure we have your information.  Voting will be restricted to those who are registered in order to insure election integrity.  When you click on the link, it will take you to a private registration page which explains how the process will work.  The information you provide will only be used for election purposes!

Disbursement of Funds
The polls will be open for approximately 10 days.  When the election closes, the winning Nonprofit will be notified and then the results will be publicly posted on this blog. Only the vote totals and percentages will be available.  Your information and how you cast your ballot remain private.

What's next?  We do it all over again - every single quarter!
We need your help!
  • As long as you do not opt-out of the registration, you will be able to vote every quarter.  We hope you'll do that.  Read the postings and vote to send the money where you think it will be used most appropriately!
  • Encourage your family and friends to follow along with us.  They can and should register to vote!
  • Tell everyone you know to "Like" Responsible Referrals Facebook Page  Exposure to what we're doing is absolutely critical.  Critical, I say!  The more that you can help us spread the word, the less we'll have to spend on advertising.  That gives us more available funding for our mission statement.
  • Let us know of any deserving Nonprofits that might be interested in this program.  We'll need 4 to 6 of them every quarter.
  • As always, should you have any questions or concerns, please CONTACT us.  Your feedback is vital to the success of this program.
  • If you know of anyone looking to buy or sell real estate in any form in any part of the country, ask them (BEG them if you have to) to contact us.  There is no cost, but the benefits to children, teenagers and families who may be living on the streets of our cities is great.  Our goal is to raise $10,000 for the third quarter and we need your help to do that!  Thank you!
Have a great week!
